I was kindly sent a copy of this book for free by the author, John T. Leonard in exchange for an honest review.
I have reviewed some of John’s other work and thoroughly enjoyed his writing style so, when he approached me to review this one explaining it’s nothing like his previous work I was instantly intrigued and couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.
The ARC is a children’s book, written to help its readers understand why certain things happen in life and as someone who was bullied as a child it’s a book I wished existed when I was at school, it definitely would have helped me!
I was fully invested in the story and I was fascinated with how the complexity of the plot was articulated in such a way that it would be enjoyable for both children and adults alike.
The book reminded me of the very popular life simulation video game that was first released almost 21 years ago (feel old yet?)
If you know a young person who is being bullied, I would highly recommend you buy them this book. It’s packed full of important lessons that will not only help them understand why it may be happening to them but also, there’s clever tips on how to try and prevent it happening again in the future.
As always, I look forward to reading more of John’s work in the future.
