337 by,M. Jonathan Lee.

I was kindly sent a copy of this book by the publisher, Hideaway Fall Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

I have reviewed for a previous book of M. Jonathan Lee in the past so I was more than happy to receive a copy of this one. Especially when the selling point of the book is “nothing is as it seems”. And the design of the book definitely adds to that description. You can pick up this book and start reading it from either the front or the back*. And, the title of the book ‘337’ is also the mirror image of the surname of the author. Very clever idea and kudos to whoever came up with the idea originally!

I found this book quite slow to get into and there were some parts that left me with a lot of questions. “Why am I being told this?” “Why is he doing that?” “Will I ever find out what’s really going on?” Well, I can say that the majority of my questions did get answered but, the book still ended on an almighty cliffhanger. I don’t actually know if there will be a sequel or if we have to use our own imagination to answer the questions left unanswered!?
That being said, once I was a few chapters in, I couldn’t put the book down, I needed to know what would be unearthed next.

Lee’s ability to paint a picture with his words is applaudable. He spins an intricate web interweaving the past and the present, he keeps his cards incredibly close to his chest only revealing snippets of information at any one time. He reveals just enough to keep his reader’s dangling on the hook whilst eagerly turning the pages.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is aged 18+. Due to some of the content of this book, reader discretion is advised.

*Please note the double-ended upside-down opening for this book is available in books ordered in hard copy from UK booksellers only.
